Position: Camp Atterbury Center Staff

Job Status: Hourly, Full Time

Job Location: Camp Atterbury, Edinburgh, IN

Basic Functions: The Camp Atterbury Center Staff position reports to the Camp Atterbury Center Manager. This position will assist in the delivery services at the USO of Indiana Camp Atterbury Center including the organization, implementation, and coordination of center facility operations as well as execution of Camp Atterbury geographic area programs, and the training and management of volunteers. The Camp Atterbury Center Staff position will also have the responsibility to assist in the maintaining of the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC) USO center as required. This position will require working independently with night and weekend availability.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and proven experience in customer service, administrative tasks and service delivery. • Experience in non-profits is a plus. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and communicate with a wide variety of people and age ranges to include volunteers, individuals in the United States Armed Forces and their families. • Applicant must be a strong proponent of USO of Indiana’s mission of supporting active military personnel, military retirees and their families. • Working knowledge and understanding of personal computers to include Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher. • Ability to represent the interests of persons in the Armed Forces and their families to the public through speaking engagements. • Must have a smart phone and working knowledge of Social Media use in order to expand outreach of the organization; including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 40 lbs. • Ability to work as part of a team or independently on specific projects. • Ability to work some weekends and 12-hour days periodically

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous event planning or program experience • Familiarity with the military community. • Knowledge of the USO and its programs and services. • Public speaking or presentation experience. • Reliable vehicle. • Previous experience in working with non-profits. • Prior military experience helpful. • Salary: Hourly pay $12 per hour

USO of Indiana, Camp Atterbury Staff Responsibilities

• Assist the Center Manager in the execution of USO of Indiana services and programs in the Edinburgh and Bartholomew/Johnson/Jennings County area; including, but not limited to assisting in the planning, development and implementation of activities, programs and events such as fundraisers, family programs, holiday programs, etc. • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, working equipment, security and safety within the Camp Atterbury center, a 4000 square foot recreation facility with exterior responsibilities. • Assist in ensuring that all USO of Indiana services procedures are being followed. • Ensure that programs and services supplement and enhance the overall mission of Camp Atterbury and MUTC commands. • Assist the Center Manager with MUTC USO of Indiana center including stocking, maintenance and upkeep (MUTC is a 1200 square foot center located at the N. Vernon Airport, COB Panther). • Responsible for helping to build relationships within the community, be an ambassador for the USO of Indiana at all times. • Assist on recruitment, training, supervision and development of volunteers to support the daily delivery of programs and services. • Assist as needed in representing the interests of persons in the Armed Forces and their families to the public through speaking engagements, community events, volunteer fairs, etc. • Work closely with USO of Indiana volunteers for center events and center hosting. • Assist as needed in solicit in-kind and financial support for the center and programs by maintaining and enhancing current donor relationships and creating new relationships . • Assist in the physical inventory of center equipment and supplies as required. • Assist in updating center calendars as required for internal use. • Assist as needed in organizing data for and prepare, monthly, in-kind, inventories and yearly reports. • Prepare donor acknowledgement letters as required. • Other duties as assigned by the Camp Atterbury Center Manager
