Indiana Pacers Hoops for Troops
The Indiana Pacers hosted 50 service members to lunch and a practice session viewing today as part of Hoops for Troops week sponsored by Indiana Wesleyan University. A delicious barbecue lunch was served up in the Banker Life Fieldhouse Legends club and the group was visited by the Pacers mascot Boomer, some of the Pacemate cheerleaders and Pacer legend, Dr. Dunk, Darnell Hillman.
After lunch, the group went courtside to watch head coach Nate McMillan put his team through practice followed by an autograph session with the team. “We love doing this event,” said Darnell Hillman, “It’s a great way to show these men and women appreciation for what they do for us.”
Our service members had a day to remember. We can’t thank the Pacers enough for their hospitality. Nothing keeps our service members connected to their family, home and country like Pacers basketball.
